Sotheby's International Realty was founded in 1976. Today, the group is a leader in offering distinctive real estate properties around the world. With more than 23,000 independent real estate specialists in 1,000 offices spread across 71 countries and regions, members of our network have the reach needed to present real estate properties worldwide in an outstanding manner. In the heart of London, on New Bond Street, Sotheby's was founded in 1744 as an auction house, here manifested over two centuries a tradition of authentic knowledge. As the oldest company traded on the New York Stock Exchange (BID), Sotheby's Auction House has a worldwide network of 90 offices in 40 countries. Today, Sotheby's conducts auctions in eight locations, including New York, London, Hong Kong and Paris. The auction house's portfolio includes more than 70 categories, such as the gallery business, the contemporary art division, and two retail divisions, Sotheby's Diamonds and Sotheby's Wine.
